Small Announcement + Intro

Oct 14, 2026

I haven't gone dark: the first full-length letter arrives in a few hours!

Turns out I was using the wrong medium for sending these letters out; I was posting to a blog rather than the cleaner, dedicated newsletter feature my provider offers.

We're all good now.

I hope...

There is a real lesson on friction at least: if you want consistency, tear down the obstacles in between A and B. All that technical headache made me hate the thought of writing for even two minutes, but now that the system is in place, everything flows. Like butter.

So to recap, here's the new schedule:

  • 4 x full-length letters per month.
  • Stories, links, and recommendations in between.

This format is great because there is no algorithm to cater to, and we can have a real conversation—feel free to email me! There's no promise I'll see it anytime soon, but I try to answer all the recent replies as best I can.

And if you have any ideas for deep-dives or topics to cover, I'm listening.

You'd be surprised at how many ideas I steal from wise email respondents (with credit of course).

Hope you enjoy the first: it's on modernity and the death of leisure.

Much love,

Odysseas

P.S.

Apologies if you ever got an email welcoming you to 'RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA'

That was a test I was supposed to send to myself.

The 7 Skills to Master Deep Reading
Deep reading is a supply-chain of skills. If one step fails, the struggles pile up and everything goes to shit, I mean seriously why am I spending hours on this retarded prattle, what is he even saying? This doesn't mean anything? Hello? I hate you Hegel your comprehension suffers. Or at least it creates hours of wasted effort that COULD have brought you closer to the real goal: transformation....
Digital Pharisees
The internet wages a grinding war against your critical thinking, but there is one archetype I detest above all: the Digital Pharisee. I know them well because I was one. That makes this a cautionary newsletter, so you learn to spot them and avoid becoming one yourself. If you know your Bible, you can guess where I’m going, but we'll rewind anyway: who were the real Pharisees? How does this anc...
You Get What You Give
I'm about to do something I have never done before, and it arrives with a lesson on how to live well: I'm launching a paid tier of this newsletter. Six dollars for two extra deep-dive letters, every month. The pace of the free letters will stay the same; nobody loses anything. It's an odd feeling because since the first video on the channel—May 2023—I have not once asked anybody to subscribe, l...
